Why we use it: The universal solvent! Helps improve the spread of a formula and as a carrier for other ingredients. Can be a diluent in cleansers to avoid irritation or harshness.

Pentylene Glycol

Why we use it: Pentylene glycol is a moisturizer with a glossy finish that helps products glide effortlessly on the skin. It also enhances the penetration of active ingredients into the skin as well as boosting other natural preservatives in the formula.

Why we use it: Mild cleansing surfactant known for its beautiful foaming abilities.

Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate

Why we use it: This ingredient is used as a thickener and sensory enhancer and is used for its gelling properties. It offers a luxurious texture, similar to that of synthetic polymers, but with a significantly more sustainable profile.

Source: Ours is 95% naturally derived from corn grown in the USA. It is a readily biodegradable material, unlike traditional synthetic polymers, which makes it a sustainable and superior choice for rinse-off products.

Ceramide NP

Why we use it: Ceramides are naturally occurring lipids that make up 50% of the skin but decrease as we age. When ceramide levels decrease, the skin barrier becomes compromised, leading to dryness and irritation. Why we use it: A lightweight, fast absorbing oil with a multitude of benefits including softening and moisturizing skin by restoring the skin's natural protective film. Sesame oil is packed with nutrients and rich in linoleic acid (omega 6) which helps with skin barrier repair and reduces acne and inflammation. It is known as the “queen of oils” and “fountain of youth” and is widely used in Ayurveda.

Why we use it: A highly formula-stable, oil soluble form of Vitamin C that effectively penetrates the skin with no irritation.
